On Being Sick, Barbells for Boobs, Riding Camels, & PRs aka Life Lately
The weeks are just flying by. I meant to post more last week but I got a little sick, not all out sick, but I feel like I have been hovering on that line between “I don’t feel too hot” and “Leave me alone I’m Dying” for a good week. Life right now is super busy and if I don’t go go go I feel like I will just stop. I lose will power, focus, and drive. It’s been a delicate balance this past week, trying to give myself some slack for not feeling good but not letting myself be totally lazy because I’m not really sick. Mornings have been the…

Disney on Ice St Louis
Remember awhile back when I told you about Disney on Ice coming to St Louis? Well this past Friday was the day! They were here for 3 days playing multiple shows. We went on Friday night. We decided not to tell Payton what we were doing. As we drove out to the city she said our adventure was a far drive, but she was excited the whole way there! //instagram.com/p/ex5AvDDIi8/embed/ When we arrived I had her princess dress ready and told her we were going to see all her disney friends. She was so excited! I was super impressed with the set up. Disney had their vendors and merchandise set…

Barbells For Boobs
Hey Friends! I hope your week is going well. I’ve got a few things I’ve been working on posts for, but seeing as it is now October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share with you something awesome we are doing through our CrossFit, CrossFit 70. We are hosting a Barbells for Boobs fundraising event on October 19th. Our goal as a team is to raise a total of $800, enough to pay for 10 mammograms. On October 19th we will come together and perform the workout “Grace” which is 30 Clean & Jerks for time. Barbells for Boobs is a non-profit organization that provides funding to pay…

Gateway Garage Games 2013
Oh, hello Thursday. Nice of you to sneak up on me! We spent most of our weekend up at the Family Arena either spectating or competing in the Gateway Garage Games 2013, so I’ve been playing catch up and trying to recover as much as possible. It’s amazing what not having a weekend to clean, plan meals, grocery shop, and food prep will do to your week! I seriously feel like I’ve been drowning in my to do list all week! Anyway, back to the competition. Friday afternoon we headed out to watch the first night of individual competition. Our box was sending 2 teams, but we didn’t compete until…

If we were having coffee I would tell you it has been so dang hot out that I have been thankful for this little package sent to me from the wonderful folks at Keurig Brew Over Ice! Not only do they have awesome flavors of already sweetened ice coffee, they have all other sorts of cold drinks like lemonade and iced tea. It’s super simple to make, just like the name says… put the k-cup in and brew it over a glass of ice! Pretty neat, right? Check them out…

5 Tips for Relieving Stress
http://member.clevergirlscollective.com/track?u=10185&g=712 I think we would all agree that life is stressful. We can get so caught up in the day to day grind that we just wear ourselves out. I’m especially guilty of this. It is something I’ve been trying to work on for awhile. Usually when I have a stress breakdown it isn’t caused by one thing in particular, but more like lots of things adding up until something finally causes that break. More than half of Americans stress out on a daily basis according to this nifty infographic: I think we all take life a little too seriously sometimes and we can use some help reminding us to…

Project: Simplify Week 1
It’s no secret that I am busy. I feel like I say that with every post, but it’s true! Life seems to be racing by at blistering speeds and I am just trying to keep up. It can leave me in a bit of a panic sometimes. I really hate that feeling. The past few weeks have been more stressful than normal with traveling and such. I am really trying to go into each week with a better frame of mind. Rather than face the week with panic, I’m going to go in with a plan and a mindset of peace. One of my biggest mental hurdles is feeling constantly…
