5 Tips for Relieving Stress

http://member.clevergirlscollective.com/track?u=10185&g=712

I think we would all agree that life is stressful. We can get so caught up in the day to day grind that we just wear ourselves out. I’m especially guilty of this. It is something I’ve been trying to work on for awhile. Usually when I have a stress breakdown it isn’t caused by one thing in particular, but more like lots of things adding up until something finally causes that break. More than half of Americans stress out on a daily basis according to this nifty infographic:

I think we all take life a little too seriously sometimes and we can use some help reminding us to lighten up a bit. So… Here are my 5 Tips for Relieving Stress

stresstips

1. Just Breathe.

Ok – so this one sounds a little simple. That’s because it is meant to be! We make things SO overcomplicated. If you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed out take a second to walk away. Clear your mind and take a few deep breaths.

2. Workout.

This is my go to de-stressor. Life is so “go go go” all the time… until I walk up to the barbell. In those moments it doesn’t matter what’s going on around me or what went on before I got there or after I leave. When that clock beeps 3-2-1-GO! I’m in the moment. It is just me and the barbell (or kettlebell… or jump rope… or whatever torture device we are using that day). It also releases Endorphins and gets that blood flowing so I feel more energized.

3. Find a cute animal.

Seriously, as much as my dogs sometimes add to the stress just watching them makes me giggle. Look up pictures of kittys or pandas. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Yes this guy HAS to be close to one of us all day. and by close I mean on top of.

4. Declutter.

I’ve been talking about this for a few weeks with my Project: Simplify series (you don’t want to miss the post on Monday… I’m tackling the kids room this weekend!) But the more clutter you have around you the more cluttered  your mind will feel. If you have a clean and organized house you will feel less likely to be stressed. It may take some work, but it will be worth it and easy to maintain.

5. Drink Neuro.

I’ve posted about these before so when I provided with an opportunity to review it I didn’t even have to think about it! So, what is it? neuro BLISS is a delicious tropical citrus lychee flavored drink designed to reduce stress and relax the mind. How does it work? It contains chamomile and a powerful blend of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants including L-theanine, an amino acid found in green tea which has been found to reduce stress, produce relaxation and enhance focus. This combination provides a calming effect and promotes a positive outlook by reducing stress levels, improving memory and attention and supporting the brain, resulting in the ability to concentrate on one’s goals – not the pressure. With just only 35 calories per bottle and contain no artificial colors or flavors it’s something I don’t feel “stressed” about enjoying. You can find them at Target, Walgreens, Safeway, 7-11 and other national convenience and drug stores. Even better… use this coupon!
