    Lunatik Athletics Review & Giveaway

Hey Friends! Sorry for my absence these last few days. My computer totally died. While the hubs (aka my IT department) was out of town. It was crazy. Anyway, I’m back in business with a brand new Macbook Air! While I love getting new things it was still a huge hit to the checkbook… ugh. Such is life I guess! Sometimes being a grown up sucks. Enough about that, let’s talk about something fun…. Like bright knee socks! Remember when I first talked to you about Lunatik Athletiks? I have worn my Rockin Dots Compression socks ALOT since then. Most notably during the GO! STL Half Marathon, where I got…

    Weekend Shenanigans

Weekends go by far too fast. I hate the I spend so much time wishing for the weekend to come, only to have it disappear so quickly! This weekend was a great one though! Friday night we headed out to do a little shopping. We are heading out to Texas for a family get together to celebrate the hubs’ grandparents 50th Anniversary so we needed to get some new clothes, of course. Well, the hubs really did need some new clothes, but I am never one to turn down the opportunity to shop! We also had dinner out. I was good and stayed on plan with grilled chicken, potatoes, and…

    Coffee Date

Hey there friends! I’m so glad we finally made it to Friday because it’s time for our Coffee Date! I recently discovered the amazingness that is the Iced Americano. Seriously, it’s so good. I recreated it at home. We have a Starbucks Verismo (yes, its right next to our Keurig #coffeeloverproblems) All I did was brewed up one of the Espresso pods. added the same amount of water, a dash of coconut milk creamer, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. So yummy. If we were having coffee today this is definitely what I’d be drinking…. What would you be drinking? If we were having coffee I would tell you this week has been…

My Nutrition Plan and Goals (Weigh in Wednesday)

Happy Wednesday, Friends! I’m so glad we’ve made it half way through the work week. This month… heck, this year… is flllllying by. I actually had a fleeting thought of working on Christmas lists. Then I started getting excited because that means January is coming. January is like our summer, it’s when we take our big vacations. 2012 was Disney, 2013 was Costa Rica, and 2014 is our Disney Cruise! Speaking of the cruise – that is one of my HUGE motivation factors for staying on course with my fitness. I’d love to rock a 2 piece confidently on the cruise. Confession… I actually bought a bikini a few weeks…

Weekend Adventures – In the Moment

This weekend was just what I needed. After Friday’s post about finding the balance I decided to work on living in the now. We went out to a birthday BBQ with some of our lovely box members. I love those guys! The community of CrossFit is just amazing. We all joked about how we barely recognized each other in “normal” clothes. I knew I had an upcoming “refeed” meal planned for Saturday so I wanted to stick to my meal plan on friday night. So, I packed my own food. Since I pack my own food so much now I bought a cute container to carry it in. It was fun…

    Girl Talk #DemoDiaries #Sponsored

http://member.clevergirlscollective.com/track?u=10185&g=663 Another disclaimer… we’re going to be having some pretty open “girl talk” so if you’re a dude (or a girl who doesn’t want to get into girl talk) you can stop reading now. Don’t say I didn’t give you fair warning! Life is busy. My life seems beyond busy lately. I hardly seem to know what day of the week it is, let alone what week of the month! I’m always on the go so when it comes to feminine products I need one that can keep up with me, not one I have to keep up with. Enter U by Kotex I’ve actually been using U by Kotex products…

    Truth is…

I get a ton of emails and questions about staying motivated. This journey has been a long one for me. If I were to tell you I was super motivated the whole time, I’d be a big fat liar. Because the truth is sometimes this journey sucks. The truth is I have days where I just want to quit. Some days I’m motivated with my progress, other days I wonder why I’m not further along in this journey. The truth is sometimes it seems so much easier to settle for good. The progress I’ve made so far is good. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s good. I could…

    Find Your Why

I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I remember trying to lose weight in high school because I wanted to fit into a pretty dress for school dances or because I felt the pressure of society telling me I should want to lose weight. Even during my internship after high school I tried to get into running or eating “healthier” because I thought it was what I “should” do. Until Pizza or Oreo night. Let’s be real – sharing a dorm room with 5 other girls it was basically a hormonal food binge all year. The truth is I have always had a great level of confidence. I…

My Truth and The Next Step

Hey there lovelies! How are you doing today? I am starting to feel a little bit worn out from the week, despite my relaxing weekend. These early mornings, long work days, and late nights are no joke. It’s just a season, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. So remember when I told you about how I was so confused about my nutrition? I’ve done a lot of thinking, reading, and babbling (mostly to this girl, who has been an amazing support and awesome encouragement) and you know what? I didn’t find the answers. What I did realize is that it is ok to not be ok. It’s ok…

    Weekend Recap

Sometimes I just need a weekend. One free of the demands of every day life. Of course, there is always something going on… but this weekend I really just sat back and enjoyed myself. And you know what? It was just what I needed. Lately we’ve been in a pretty stressful place. Life has it’s demands. Things are stressful. We keep telling each other that some breakthrough must be coming, because these times are so hard. This isn’t a pity party, but merely an observation to record so when I look back I can see the hope shining through every moment. In this demanding time of life I choose joy. I relish…
