Staying Fit with Lorna Jane #HolidayFitList #SweatPink

With the Christmas season already upon us everyone seems to be making their list and checking it twice! I was excited when I was invited to share my list as a part of the #HolidayFitList campaign with Lorna Jane Active and Sweat Pink.

The truth is Lorna Jane has been on my wish list for a long time. I absolutely love the colors, designs, and inspiration I see from them online. Their mission statement really resounds with me

Our mission is to inspire women to live their best life through Active Living.

One of my top 5 tips for staying active this holiday season is to have cute clothes to workout in! Whenever I’m in a workout rut I always buy a new outfit or accessory and it makes me more excited to get back in the gym. Enter Lorna Jane! Fashionable and Functional activewear to keep you motivated!

I was able to shop around on LornaJane.com and pick a few pieces to try out. It was a hard choice because everything is so cute! I’m a sucker for inspirational sayings so I chose an inspirational tank with the saying “Your Body Achieves What your Mind Believes”

I have been looking for some pants to wear over my crops when going back and forth between CrossFit and when I saw the Flashdance Pants I knew I had to try them.

I also picked the Sorority Bra. Holy Moly that thing is amazing! It has removable pads and keeps you in place no matter what you’re doing!

I tested them out during a workout and am happy to say they did amazing! Between hang cleans, push ups, and push presses I didn’t have to think about my clothes and I looked cute while going all beast mode.

Not only do they create beautiful, inspiring activewear they also have created an entire online community to inspire women to be their best and to inspire others. My second tip for staying fit this holiday season is to get yourself involved in a community. Whether it is online or in your home town, being a part of a group helps keep you accountable!

My third tip for having a healthy holiday season is to try to watch your sugar intake. Lorna Jane has an awesome FREE cookbook available called Move Over Sugar to help you stay on track without feeling like you’re missing out. The recipe that stood out the most to me was the homemade chai spice! I love Chai Lattes and would love them even more if I didn’t have to use that sugar laden concentrate like they do at Starbucks. Hello healthier! (and cheaper!)

What You’ll Need
1 tbsp. cardamom pods
3 star anise
4 whole cloves
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tbsp. ground coriander

How to Make it
Grind cardamom pods, star anise and
cloves in a mortar and pestle.
Transfer to a small airtight container and add
cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and coriander.
Mix through and store in a cool, dark place.
It is perfect to use when making fresh almond
milk (just add 2 teaspoons with 1 cup soaked
almonds and 3 cups of water before blending).

Tip 4 for a healthy holiday season is to stay hydrated!! A lot of times our body mistakes thirst for hunger and you end up eating when what you really need is a drink! Water helps keep you full and keeps things moving regularly if you know what I mean… So Drink up!

My final tip for a healthy holiday season is to stop stressing. It doesn’t matter if your presents aren’t wrapped right. or if you’re not at every party. It’s ok to enjoy yourself and your time with friends and family. Don’t sweat the small stuff!

While it may not get any less hectic or busy over the next few weeks it’s still important to have some “you” time. Spend some time shopping for an outfit to make you excited about working out, find a community to connect with, watch the sugar, stay hydrated, and stop stressing!
