i think that’s going to be my new nickname for little P. She is such a little firecracker. It’s amazing to watch her develop such a defined personality. giggles and zebras
Let me just start off by saying I’m SO happy that the nasty cranky teething monster that replaced my daughter for a week seems to have disappeared (hopefully never to return!) Yesterday she woke up her happy self, giggling and carrying on in her room. She gave me a big squishy face smile when I went in to get her. She laughed all morning, sometimes for no reason. We played for a long while in the afternoon where we laughed so hard both of us could barely breathe. I totally just soaked in those sweet moments, knowing I would probably need them to get me through whatever meltdown she has…

I am “that” mom. is it worth losing sleep over?
recently i’ve been feeling like there just isn’t enough time in the day. even when i stay focused on one activity of a time I find myself buried deep in a list of projects as the clock tick tocks away. one of the “non-negotiable’s” in my weekly routine is getting to the gym AT LEAST 3-5 times a week. I was really good at going right after I put Payton to bed, but lately I feel like I have so many things to “wrap up” at the end of the day, plus I cherish the time Chris and I have together in the evenings. Not to mention I’m usually exhausted…

I think people have an over-idealized perception of the life of a stay at home mom. Most days, it is a dream job. I get to spend the day taking care of my precious baby and managing my household and I truly enjoy it. But sometimes Monday sneaks up on me. This is especially true today. the laundry is crying out to be done after a weekend of neglect. the dishes in the sink aren’t going to wash themselves. being that it is the end of the month, the budget/bill paying needs to be done. my coffee has gotten cold twice before i’ve been able to drink it. the fridge…

whoa, when did this happen? my baby girl turned one!! it seems like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant and then we were at the hospital and then bringing her home… and now she’s one! she has such a huge personality, it’s almost scary. she has been drinking whole milk for awhile now and doesn’t use a bottle anymore. she gets around fast, which keeps me on my toes. she loves to talk and knows a lot of words. she just started learning “please” but doesn’t understand the concept of thank you just yet. to celebrate her birthday we had a get together with family and friends. she…

Disney Recap: Magic Kingdom and Epcot
Ok, I know I promised another Disney update, but I didn’t realize the pictures from the last few days were still on the camera and just now got around to importing them. Disney World: Days 1 and 2
man oh man did we have a blast last week!!! I have to admit I was slightly nervous about flying with an (almost) one year old, but she did great. She was absolutely exhausted but was so stimulated she refused to sleep. We stayed at the Pop Century Resort at Disney World. It was nice, although the room was kinda small. Payton was SO excited to see the Mickey Mouse Silhouettes on the Comforter, the pictures of Mickey on the wall and such. I told her she had NO clue what was coming. 10 months.
today Payton is double digits (in months). wow. she’s growing SO fast! it seems like she is less and less of a baby and more and more of a toddler. in the last few weeks she has finally moved from scooting to crawling. she is learning to play fetch with the dog, she just doesn’t understand how to let go of the ball. she understands a lot of words and tries to say some of them like shoes, hat, juice and bottle. She is best friends with Delilah and Little Dog (although Delilah doesn’t seem to feel the same, Little Dog loves her). She is quite independent and even fed…

Thanksgiving Recap
Wow, has it been a whole week already? I swear I meant to post about thanksgiving over the weekend but I got caught up in the hole that is black friday. We went out to walmart at midnight (baby in tow and all!) and oh my goodness it was a mad house. Payton and I just hid in the toy section while Chris braved the crowds to get us a $15 shop vac and a few $2 towels. I will say I think the entertainment value was greater than the savings. People were making caravans with their 3 carts full of stuff, most of it they probably didn’t even need!…
