Who is ready for some coffee? After running errands on lunch the husband treated me to this lovely Trenta Cool Lime Refresher: It took me forever to find 5 minutes to get away to record this vlog, so I hope you appreciate it. Recap: Met a huge weight loss goal! Learning to believe in myself. I am more than just a before picture. Also, I have Jury duty next month… What are your craziest Jury Duty stories? My Coffee History {CLICK Espresso Protein Review}
I love coffee. Like a lot. I never thought I would say that. I used to be so disgusted by the taste of coffee. Back when I was in high school I would be up at 5:30, at school by 6:15, stay after school until 4:30 with extra-curricular activities, go to work at 5:30 and be home after 10:30… and start all over again. I started drinking disgusting office coffee just to get through some of those late night hours of data entry/phone sales (yes, in my former life I was a telemarketer (a really good one)… please don’t stop reading my blog because of it!) Anyway… back to that disgusting…

60 Day Fat Loss Challenge Check In: Week 7
At last week’s check in I talked about cheat days. I tried this week to keep my “cheats” to a minimum and stuck to small treats here and there as opposed to a whole day or meal off. I also started writing down when and what I eat to track my intake better. I’m not exactly counting calories, just trying to see if there is a pattern to my hunger and eating habits. It seems to be working pretty well. I also get some mental help from it, like I know if I eat this I’ll have to write it down. That gauges how bad I really want it. Besides…

The Power of Community
First of all, let me say thank you to everyone who was so supportive about yesterday’s exciting announcement. If you haven’t checked it out, what are you waiting for? Pre-orders are happening fast, make sure you order yours before the sizes/styles you want sell out! (tip: follow @WODink on twitter for discount codes and giveaways!) That really leads into what is really on my mind today: the power of community. It is really a spectacular thing. The idea isn’t anything new to me. It’s something I’ve known for awhile, but if I’m totally honest, finding community has been hard for me. 5 years ago when we eloped I left everything…

60 Day Fat Loss Challenge Check In: Week 6
I can’t believe we have just a few more weeks left in this challenge! I’m nervous about seing the results of my DXA scan, especially since the last results were so sobering. I’m hoping to see some big improvements as far as BMI and Body Fat Percentage go. Its hard to judge my progress based on the scale, it really doesn’t tell the whole story. This week I’ve been trying to figure out how to find balance. I believe that moderation is key on this journey to health. I’ve asked around a couple of different social groups what they think about the concept of “cheat days” or “cheat meals”. Saturday…

60 Day Fat Loss Challenge Check In: Week 5
I can’t believe we are over half way done with the 60 day Fat Loss Challenge already! Man, there have been highs and lows. Honestly, it has been harder than I thought it would be. I have always struggled with my weight (read my story for background). I did kinda expect this time to be different than every other time I’ve tried to lose weight… I’m not sure why, but I did. I have worked really hard for the weight loss I’ve achieved over these past 5 weeks, and I’m proud of every ounce I’ve lost. I guess, really, this time is different. I think starting CrossFit has a lot…

60 Day Fat Loss Challenge Check In: Week 4
Last Friday marked the half way point for the 60 day fat loss challenge! It seems like it has been way longer than that. Week 4 was a bit tough as we were in Miami for a few days. Being away from home and CrossFit plus traveling and being tired just made it seem like a tough week. I weighed in at 204.2 for the week 3 check in. While I weighed in at 204.2 when I got home from Miami, I think the weekend caught up with me. I was super relaxed, but super tired too! Recap: Friday June 22 Travel Day While I didn’t work out on Friday I…

60 Day Fat Loss Check In: Week 3
With posting about our trip to Miami I forgot to post about my week 3 Fat loss challenge… oops! So I’m going to do a quick recap of my week 3 and will be back this weekend with my week 4… I left off the week 2 check in feeling a little discouraged. I have to admit that it’s been hard not seeing my results on the scale. I feel like my work to reward ratio is off. I still plan on working hard, but am going to try to focus on my non-scale victories. This week one of my biggest victories is noticing that my pull ups are getting easier!…

60 Day Fat Loss Challenge: Week 2 Check In
Our second week of the 60 day fat loss challenge ended last Friday. It feels like we have been doing this a lot longer… and like I should be seeing more results than I am. I have to be honest, this weigh in really discouraged me. I had been up and down in my weight all week, mostly fluctuating a pound or two at a time… which I know can be contributed to many things. I felt like I had a pretty solid week of work outs and felt pretty confident that I had stuck close to our Paleo/Clean eating diet. Let’s recap the week… Friday June 8 1 Mile run/.75 walk…

60 Day Fat Loss Challenge
Lately I’ve been looking for motivation and inspiration to take my fitness journey to the next level. This week I got the answer I was looking for! Barton Publishing, the company the hubs and I work for, is starting a 60 day fat loss challenge! This is awesome on several levels… First, it has some awesome prizes that include prizes for every percent of fat lost on top of prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall. Secondly, it gets the hubs and I motivated to work towards the same goals at the same time! Third, it gives us a definite time goal and motivation for it. Tomorrow morning we are…
