I have a 3 year old…
When did that happen? I swear it was just yesterday I was heading into the hospital to have her. I remember seeing her for the first time, so tiny and pink. And now she is such a sassy, smart, & spunky little girl. We got to celebrate her birthday twice! Once last week with our family in St Louis and again this past weekend with my family in Florida. She absolutely loved it. It is so fun to see them get excited about their birthday as they get older. I am so incredibly proud of her. She is the sweetest most intelligent 3 year old I know. She really is…

Three Things Thursday
1. Thursdays. They are apparently not my best days. Last week I turned off my alarm instead of pushing snooze and ended up getting to CrossFit 15 minutes late. Last night I stayed up late and having coffee with amazing friends around our table. I knew going to bed after midnight would make the 4am wake up call hard. I didn’t realize that Thursdays are now “Courtney turns off the alarm instead of pushing snooze” day. I did it again. This time I was only 5 minutes late to CrossFit. I’m just proud that I actually went. Even if I slept-walked through the workout. I got a good burn in…

Coffee Date: Mud Runs and Mommy Moments
Friday!!!! If I planned this out correctly I should be on my way to Florida by the time you read this. I’m super excited, but kinda stressed out about making sure I have everything plus the idea of traveling with my very vocal 2 year old. I get in these weird moods before I travel… I feel the need to clean the entire house really well because I hate coming home to a messy house. I also have to resist the urge to pack everything I own because “what if…” Like there isn’t a Target in Florida. ha. So, Coffee Date time! This week I splurged and got my coffee…

Pound the Pavement 5k Recap
We did it! Payton and I completed our first 5k together! It was a blast too. There is something so refreshing about a small no-frills local race. There were maybe 200 people there for both the 5k and 10k. We arrived early and walked around a bit to warm up. Before the race even started she was asking where the finish line was so she could get her trophy… HA! We started out in the back with a few other strollers. This race was very punctual, 8:00am on the dot and with a quick 3-2-1 go and we were off! I actually started out pretty fast for me and was…

Coffee Date: WHY?
Whew, what a week. Seriously, something about this week was so draining. I’m glad it is Friday and I’m totally looking forward to a fun weekend. I’m running my first Stroller 5k, WHOO! It is a small local race (less than 200 entries so far) and I love being able to support local events. Also, I’m sure my running partner is going to be the cutest around. Speaking of the amount of cuteness… Check out her/our featured up on the FitFluential Blog! And my blog is featured on the Top Mommy Blogs site too! Thanks to all who continue voting for me! I’m almost to the first page, so keep it…

Racing, Shopping, and a Cute kid.
Be sure to check out my guest post over at Frolic Through Life today!! I’m talking about the mental changes I’ve seen since starting CrossFit! I’m also featured on the Fit Approach site today as well, so check it out! Time is flying by! It’s already Thursday afternoon? Geez… It feels like Saturday’s Color Run was just yesterday but it’s almost time for another weekend (YES!) and guess what? I’m doing another 5k this weekend! It is a local 5k put on by the Friends of Wentzville Parks. I’m doing this one with the jogging stroller, watch out! Payton is WAY more excited then me. She keeps asking “Mom, I…

Coffee Date: 2 year old Style
I love getting to sit down and have coffee with you each week. But lets be honest, if we were really having coffee it wouldn’t be that quiet in the background. and our conversation would be interuppted with counting and ABCs and “look at me mama” every 10 seconds. So instead of locking her in her room while I record my vlog I decided to have her join us! She is always excited to see herself on the screen. Here is what my coffee looks like today: It is a bit cooler this morning so I’m going for hot coffee instead of iced. Bring it on, Fall! and now for…

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff For Moms (vlog and giveaway!)
Hello Dreamers! I know it’s Father’s day… but I have something special for all you moms out there! (Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!) I received a copy of Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff For Moms by Kristine Carlson to review and share with you guys. I have loved reading this book little by little and gaining great nuggets of wisdom from it. I made a vlog about it, that’s how great it was! (Also, I found what chapter I was talking about that mentioned filling yourself up before pouring yourself out… It was Chapter 30 “Powered With Your Passion”) Here is some info on the…

Mother’s Day Lessons
Whoa, Monday totally disappeared from me. Since I started working from home I’ve had to rearrange my grocery shopping schedule. Going grocery shopping in the late afternoon/evening just seems to leave me exhausted for the rest of the night! That’s what happened yesterday. Add in some work for my school classes and I was down for the count! Anyway, I wanted to share a little bit about my mothers day. It’s a funny holiday to me. I love being celebrated for being a mom, but I feel like so many moms walk in with a huge expectation of this glorious spa day or something. Truth is… if you have a…

Start ’em Young!
Being a mom is the absolute best job in the world. It can also be the most intimidating. The way that my Little Dreamer sees the world is entirely based on how we show her to see the world. At this point in her life everything that she knows has come directly or indirectly from our decisions. She knows only what we have taught her or have allowed her to be exposed to. Soak that in for a minute. That’s huge. That realization is one of the biggest inspirations for trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I didn’t want her to have to go through the struggle to lose weight…
