Weekend Adventures – In the Moment

This weekend was just what I needed. After Friday’s post about finding the balance I decided to work on living in the now. We went out to a birthday BBQ with some of our lovely box members. I love those guys! The community of CrossFit is just amazing. We all joked about how we barely recognized each other in “normal” clothes. I knew I had an upcoming “refeed” meal planned for Saturday so I wanted to stick to my meal plan on friday night. So, I packed my own food. Since I pack my own food so much now I bought a cute container to carry it in. It was fun…

    Girl Talk #DemoDiaries #Sponsored

http://member.clevergirlscollective.com/track?u=10185&g=663 Another disclaimer… we’re going to be having some pretty open “girl talk” so if you’re a dude (or a girl who doesn’t want to get into girl talk) you can stop reading now. Don’t say I didn’t give you fair warning! Life is busy. My life seems beyond busy lately. I hardly seem to know what day of the week it is, let alone what week of the month! I’m always on the go so when it comes to feminine products I need one that can keep up with me, not one I have to keep up with. Enter U by Kotex I’ve actually been using U by Kotex products…

    Truth is…

I get a ton of emails and questions about staying motivated. This journey has been a long one for me. If I were to tell you I was super motivated the whole time, I’d be a big fat liar. Because the truth is sometimes this journey sucks. The truth is I have days where I just want to quit. Some days I’m motivated with my progress, other days I wonder why I’m not further along in this journey. The truth is sometimes it seems so much easier to settle for good. The progress I’ve made so far is good. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s good. I could…

Sponsored: Soldier of Steel™ Transformational Workout Plan

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Solider of Steel™ I’ve talked about my days in the NJROTC program in high school a few times here on the blog. I loved it. Sure, it was still just high school…. but being involved in the NJROTC program introduced me to so many things I wouldn’t have experienced on my own. I thrived on the structure of the program. I loved the idea of developing discipline and attention to detail. I also loved that this program pushed us to develop a code of ethics not normally taught in High School in areas like Honor, Courage, and Commitment. We…

    Find Your Why

I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I remember trying to lose weight in high school because I wanted to fit into a pretty dress for school dances or because I felt the pressure of society telling me I should want to lose weight. Even during my internship after high school I tried to get into running or eating “healthier” because I thought it was what I “should” do. Until Pizza or Oreo night. Let’s be real – sharing a dorm room with 5 other girls it was basically a hormonal food binge all year. The truth is I have always had a great level of confidence. I…

My Truth and The Next Step

Hey there lovelies! How are you doing today? I am starting to feel a little bit worn out from the week, despite my relaxing weekend. These early mornings, long work days, and late nights are no joke. It’s just a season, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. So remember when I told you about how I was so confused about my nutrition? I’ve done a lot of thinking, reading, and babbling (mostly to this girl, who has been an amazing support and awesome encouragement) and you know what? I didn’t find the answers. What I did realize is that it is ok to not be ok. It’s ok…

    Weekend Recap

Sometimes I just need a weekend. One free of the demands of every day life. Of course, there is always something going on… but this weekend I really just sat back and enjoyed myself. And you know what? It was just what I needed. Lately we’ve been in a pretty stressful place. Life has it’s demands. Things are stressful. We keep telling each other that some breakthrough must be coming, because these times are so hard. This isn’t a pity party, but merely an observation to record so when I look back I can see the hope shining through every moment. In this demanding time of life I choose joy. I relish…

    Why I blog

When I started my blog in January of 2010 it was a way to write out my thoughts, because somehow they made more sense that way. There was a deep sense of self-revelation that came when my fingers started typing. I was majorly preggo and freaking out about having a kid. and trying to figure life out. and then she came. and life got busy. and this place became somewhere to share my memories and life. and then there was that one time I thought I was going to be a craft blogger. ha. that was funny. then began my “lose the baby weight/weight from before the baby” project. I…

U Design Jewelry Review & Giveaway

When it comes to Jewelry and accessories I have never really been on the cutting edge… I actually tend to be more sentimental about jewelry. I love having beautiful pieces that have a story behind them. Some of my favorite pieces are rings that got passed down from both of my grandmothers. They hold a story. Jewelry doesn’t have to be old to have a story, you can create your pieces that tell your story. That’s why I love U Design Jewelry! U Design Jewelry is the brain child of one of my CrossFit friends, Jennifer. She founded the company with her husband in 2002 after learning from a friend…

Wide Open Baja – Driving Day 1

At the end of last summer we were talking with one of the clients we work with about setting big goals. Chris had been watching some videos of Baja Racing and suggested that we set some BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) with a goal of taking a Team trip with Wide Open Baja. Well, we set some goals… and in complete honesty… I didn’t think we would meet them. We set 5 goals with guidelines that meeting 3 of them would get us there. We met 2 of them pretty quickly, and right as the deadline approached we met the 3rd. We were going Baja Racing! I really had no…
