Inner Strength Apparel Review and Giveaway
This is going to be a fun week! I’ve got a whole slew of reviews and giveaways to share with you! Something about finding new fitness gear makes it so much easier for me to stay motivated. One of my favorite motivational tricks is buying new workout gear. If I’m in a slump and have a hard time wanting to workout usually buying new workout clothes gets me in the mood. There are tons of places out there to find cute shirts, but I’m a sucker for ones with CrossFit sayings on them. When I saw a post from Inner Strength Apparel come across my facebook page I knew I…

Coffee Date Friday
What up peeps? IT’S FRIDAY! So, Today I had a 5am class to coach. I kinda chuckled this morning going to open up shop at the CrossFit. Man, when I was in high school I literally made every excuse possible to get out of gym class. And most days it worked! I remember having to run the mile in middle school and being pissed about it the whole time. I was the least likely candidate to do anything in the fitness field. The last few years have changed that. They have changed me. I never thought I would get up around 4am to work out, let alone get up that…

Embrace Your Strength
Before I jump into today’s blog post I wanted to tell you guys about an awesome giveaway going on with CrossFit 70! You can win a pair of Reebok CrossFit Nanos! Just Click Here to Enter! Who doesn’t love a free pair of shoes? Anyway, today I wanted to talk to you a bit about Embracing your Strength. In CrossFit you always hear people talk about working on their weaknesses, which is something we all need to do. But it can be so so easy to get so trapped into thinking constantly about what you’re not good at, that you forget there are some things you are good at. When…

Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Half Marathon Race Recap
After a jam packed Friday and Saturday in Pittsburgh, it was finally time for race day! I kept waking up thinking I was going to be late for the race, so my sleep wasn’t exactly sound. I finally decided to get up a few minutes before my 5:30am alarm. I stumbled around the hotel room getting ready. I made sure I had my watch, my Honey Stingers, my fuel belt, my Nuun, and of course, my pace tattoo! We headed down to the lobby around 6 and met up with the rest of the #runfor crew. I ate half a blueberry bagel with butter and drank some Cherry Limeade Nuun.…

Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend – Part 2
Forgive me for not having this up yesterday! I came home to a whirlwind of “real life” demanding my attention and didn’t have the time to finish writing it up! The good news is right after landing in STL and picking up my daughter I went grocery shopping and prepped breakfast casserole and portioned out meat for our meals for the week – so no excuses for not eating right this week! Our first full day in Pittsburgh was filled with all kinds fun… Press Releases, Ribbon Cutting, Getting all dressed up for a cocktail dinner… It was awesome! Saturday we were scheduled to drive out of downtown to Dick’s…

Whole30 Results & Afterthoughts
It.Is.Finished. I learned a lot about myself over these past 30 days. I faced temptation and stood strong. When I started this I didn’t imagine it would be as hard as it was. I thought I ate “pretty clean” and that making adjustments to my eating wouldn’t be that difficult. I don’t eat bread/pasta/tortilla/rice all that much and I honestly don’t miss it, so that wasn’t a big deal. The things I struggled with the most was not “paleo-fying” or recreating favorite old foods. I can deal with no grains, even no dairy or legumes… but no paleo pancakes? no paleo pizza? no paleo cookies? ugh. that was tough. Towards…

Sport Journals WodBook Review & Giveaway
I love when I get to share something cool with you guys! I have been looking for a way to keep track of all my workouts, of course I have the blog to look back on but sometimes I don’t remember to blog about it. I’ve used some apps, but then I realized it wasn’t backing up the information so if something happened to my phone. What would I do if I lost track of all my PRs and Max lifts? I started looking for a better solution when I stumbled upon SportJournals.com WodBook! They were nice enough to send me a copy to review. First of all, I love…

Joggermom Virtual Marathon & New #RunFor video
Hey Friends – Happy Thursday! How is your week going? Are you just dying for the weekend? Because I kinda am. Things have been kinda crazy lately, working from home full time, plus coaching CrossFit classes, keeping up with school, trying to run a semi organized household… it can be a lot. Then there is this whole running thing. You see, I love running. It makes me feel strong. But finding time to run in between all that I have going on is tough! I love signing up for races to help keep me motivated, but sometimes even the logistics of that can get hairy (especially with a kiddo!) That’s…

BSN Syntha-6 & Amino X Review #energyigniter
If I told you how much protein powder we have in our house at any given time you wouldn’t believe me. It’s unreal. A whole shelf in our pantry that used to be dedicated to breads/processed snacks has turned into a supplement shelf… which then got overcrowded and spilled over onto my nut butter shelf. Yes, I have a whole shelf in the pantry dedicated to nut butter… or at least I did until the supplements started to spill over onto it… oh the tragedy! A few weeks ago I was sent some items to review from BSN. To say I was excited is an understatement. Can you guess why?…
