Tummy Tuck Recovery Update 10 Days Post Op

I know I keep saying it, but time has been flying by! I wrote about the actual surgery day and the first few days of recovery already. Last time I talked about tummy tuck recovery I was waiting to have my drains out… That was a long 8 days!! I went to my appointment on Tuesday with less than 20mL draining over a 24 hour period so Dr Mills took my drains out! I was SO SO SO nervous that it was going to hurt. Honestly, the most painful/annoying thing about the first week of recovery for me was the drains. So I took one last pain pill before going…

Plastic Surgery After Weight Loss – Surgery Day

I made it! I can’t believe I made it! It seems like this day would never come. I have worked so hard for the last 4 years and then I scheduled this surgery back in February. Time seemed to fly by after planning, but it also seemed like it crawled. It seemed so surreal going into the weekend before. I knew I would want to do all the little things around the house…cleaning the floors, laundry, dishes… My major concern was packing up Payton and her things to spend most of the week at Grandma’s house. When Sunday rolled around and we finally dropped Payton off with Grandma it began…

    The Bouqs

Disclaimer: I received a Free Bouq to review and have included affiliate links. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own. Like any girl, I adore fresh flowers! However I’m usually the one telling the hubs not to spend a fortune on the overpriced half-dead variety at the store… especially on Valentine’s Day. I am also very leary of the typical online flower ordering site as they advertise their killer prices and then once you end up ordering and get charged for all the “extras” you’ve just spent enough to feed a small country. A few months ago I was watching one of my favorite shows, Shark Tank, when…

    Loving Lately

As I go through everyday life and workouts and what not I am always looking for things to make it easier/more fun/or just randomly cool things. I have found a few winners recently and want to share them with you! Welcome to my most recent edition of things i’m loving lately! Some of these were sent to me for review and others I just love. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own! PowerICE Working out in a non air-conditioned CrossFit box in the summer time means that you sweat… a lot. The electrolytes, carbohydrates and sodium in PowerICE, along with its frozen temperature, make it the perfect way to…

10 Weeks Out – Focus Goals!

Yesterday marked exactly 10 weeks until I have my excess skin removal surgery.  Uhm, what? When I scheduled it August seemed like it would never come. Then life happened and all of a sudden it’s June! Gosh, I’ve worked so hard for this. And it still doesn’t seem real that it is happening. 10 weeks seems so long and so short all at the same time. I’m full of so many emotions. Of course, I’m SO excited. I’m also nervous. I know recovery is going to be a long road. It is bitter sweet as we start planning events with our CrossFit box for the fall and knowing I’ll be out…

    Alpha-Bits Little Free Library

While you all know that I consider staying physically fit of utmost importance, as a parent I’m also just as concerned with staying mentally fit. I’ve always been a reader. As a child (and still as an adult) my favorite Disney Princess was Belle, because she loved to read. The best part of the movie was when the beast gave her the whole library. Because of that I always wanted a huge library with a rolling ladder… Because who wouldn’t, right? While I have yet to get my huge library with the rolling ladder… I got something almost as fun! Check out this awesome Alpha-Bits Little Free Library! What exactly…

Can I love my body and still want to change it?

Being in the healthy living/weight loss social media circle I’m constantly exposed to different thoughts and ideas about body love and acceptance, while on the same page seeing or reading something that makes me feel pressured to look, eat, or think a specific way. On one hand I do love my body where it is now, all 190lbs of it. I love my body for what it can do. I am proud of how far that I’ve come. But having a conversation with a friend we struggled with the idea of balancing loving our bodies but also being ok with the fact that there are some things that we would still like to change…

    Healthy Options for Kids #KidsLiveWell

Disclosure: I am receiving compensation for my involvement in the #KidsEatWell initiative. All opinions are my own.  On May 17th the National Restaurant Association hosted it’s annual conference in Chicago. At the conference they recognized all the winners of the Kids LiveWell Recipe Challenge. On hand to help with the awards was celebrity chef Robert Irvine I absolutely love that they had some big names on hand to talk about how important it is to teach our kids proper nutrition! If we don’t start teaching them healthy habits now it is going to be even harder to get them to learn about healthy eating in the future. As the mom of a 4 year old I…

    Fresh Start #LetsTalkBums

This post is sponsored by Cottonelle. All thoughts and Opinions are my own. Mornings are a bit crazy around here. I guess that could be said about most houses with young children! Not only are the mornings crazy, but they start early! Having a morning routine makes it a little easier for me to make sure I’m feeling my best when I start the day. Mornings around here start around 5:15am most days. Since I workout first thing in the morning I don’t shower until after I get home. That doesn’t mean I don’t get a fresh start to my day! I use Cottonelle Flushable Cleansing Cloths and Clean Care Toilet…

    #KidsLiveWell Recipe Challenge

This post has been sponsored by the National Restaurant Association and Triberr. All opinions are my own. I love eating out. Mostly because I don’t have to cook or clean up. But also because it has always been a huge social experience for us. Before I started learning about health and nutrition I didn’t really think too much about food choices. That is one of the reasons why I was 260+lbs. As I began to learn to make better choices for myself I started to notice that there weren’t very many appealing healthy choices for kids. That’s why the National Restaurant Association started the Kids LiveWell program. Kids Live Well is…
