Pretty Muddy 2013 Discount Code
We interrupt these amazing Costa Rica Adventure recaps to bring you something awesome. Remember when I ran Pretty Muddy In Chicago last year? and when I got to go to Tampa and Miami too? Man, it was SO much fun. Pretty Muddy was my first Mud Run, and I absolutely loved it. I went on to run Warrior Dash and the Zombie Survival Dash, but Pretty Muddy always holds a special place in my heart. It was so… girly. But muddy. They make it a big party. You go (hopefully with a group of your girlfriends!) and have fun running the course which includes fun obstacles like a giant inflatable slide and…

CrossFit and the Journey of Progress {guest post}
Hey everyone, I’m Gabby and I blog about Crossfit, paleo and gluten-free recipes, and my life over at Gabby’s Gluten-Free. A special thanks to Courtney for letting me take over her blog today! Courtney is such an inspiration to me so it’s a truly an honor First off…a little about me and Crossfit. I’ve been Crossfitting for a little over six months now and have grown leaps and bounds from the first time I stepped into the box. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that this is a journey and it is about progress not perfection. I’ve been a perfectionist my entire life and Crossfit pretty much…

What I Learned from CrossFit {Guest Post}
Hi Journey of a Dreamer readers! Katelyn from Chef Katelyn here. I’m not a chef, so let’s get that out of the way, but I do cook up some other things. Let’s get to know each other. That’s me. Doing what I do best: Wearing CrossFit clothes. And this is me at my very first CrossFit competition. Yup, surprise! We’re going to talk about CrossFit. Not because it’s awesome, but because it changed my life. In many more ways than I never could have imagined. I’ve been a blogger for over two and a half years now (that’s a nice chunk of time, I do say), and only for the…

CrossFit Endurance Half Marathon Training Plan
I consider running my first fitness love. That’s really what got me into “healthy living” several years ago. I started running a little bit at a time and then jumped into training for a marathon. Not the best idea I’ve ever had, but I learned a lot. Right after I DNF’d the Disney Marathon, I jumped right into training for the GO! STL Half Marathon just 2 weeks after that ugly DNF experience. I didn’t really feel prepared and practically crawled across the finish line in 3:23:48. It was a few minute PR from the Half Marathon Split from Disney, but I know that I know I can do better.…

GEARing Up for 2013 – Sweaty Bands
I.love.Sweatybands. Seriously, I can’t begin to tell you how much… but I’m going to have to try. I have a love affair with accessories of all kinds. Jewelry, purses, shoes, headbands… They are so versatile and fun. You can spice up any outfit by just changing out the accessories. What is better than that? How about an accessory that is also actually useful? Best thing ever. I had been seeing these headbands around for awhile and was jealous of them. When I saw that Big River Running carried SweatyBands I knew I had to try one. Honestly, I was kind of skeptical. I had tried all the drug store brand…

GEARing Up for 2013- Fashletics
Today I’m continuing on with the GEARing up for 2013 Series. Today’s gear has a bit of a backstory that I feel like must be told. So here goes… I still remember the day I first walked into CrossFit O’Fallon. It was buzzing with some kind of energy I couldn’t explain. People laughing and joking while going through their “warm up” (which I thought should be considered it’s own workout!) and they all looked like they were having fun. As I looked around the place seemed so foreign. Rowers were the only “machines” found in the small industrial space. “Learn to never quit” was the quote plastered on the wall, conveniently…
