Coffee Date

Coffee Date: on the road

Good morning friends. Happy Friday! Sorry if the formatting on this post seems off, I’m writing it from a taxi on my iPhone at 3am.

If we were having coffee today I’d ask you to make mine a double, cause I’m gonna need it.

Out travel adventure started yesterday and I had the obligatory airport Starbucks. I tried the new vanilla spice latte, it was ok.

If we were having coffee I would tell you how excited I am to take some time off and just refresh. I feel like I get so caught up in life and lists that I become this lifeless robot striving to cross that next thing of the list. It’s far too easy to lose vision and passion that way. Life is too exciting not to be lived to the fullest, but sometimes I forget that.

If we were having coffee today I would ask you what it is you’re living for today. Because traveling does something to my soul… It makes me realize how life is so much bigger than I realize on normal days. I get all deep and philosophical.

And something about traveling with a toddler reminds me of the awe and wonder of it all. When it was magical to take off on an airplane or watch the luggage come down the baggage claim. And during our coffee date I would ask you when you think it was that we lost that sense of wonder an if its possible to get it back.

Next time we talk, I will have (hopefully) gotten to Costa Rica and begun my week of refreshing!

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

  1. Aw, I am so happy for you to go on vacation! Time to relax and reflect is SO important.
If we were having coffee I’d probably whine to you about cramps but then say I’m excited to go to CrossFit tonight for the first time in a busy week – and that I didn’t have a total meltdown about missing my planned workouts! Lol.
    Enjoy your trip, girl!
