December Goals

Oh- Hello December. Where did you come from? I’m seriously freaking out. I haven’t even thought about starting Christmas shopping. I have like 3 weeks still, right?

Time to review my progress on my November Goals

November Goals

My main goal for the month is to practice being thankful. I’ll include a list of things I’m thankful for at the end of my posts. I’ll have (at least) one a day. – Oops. I did this Most of the month. I’m gonna give myself a B- on this one.

I’m going to continue working on #operationpantsfit (which runs until Thanksgiving) and hopefully lose a few pounds on the way, but I don’t want to focus on the scale… that’s been messing with my mind lately. I feel “stuck” around 191-192, I get frustrated everytime I see those numbers staring back at me. – I’ll probably have to give myself a C on this. I didn’t lose anymore weight or fit into my pants without a muffin top.

Food wise, I’m going to start trying to practice more Mindful Eating. I usually find myself snacking mindlessly or not focusing on my food when eating and ended up eating too much. I’m going to try to zone in and really learn the feelings of Hunger and Satisfaction. – I did good on this most of the time… but went a little overboard on the weekends. Another C for this one.

My running goal is just simply to run. I need to keep building up my base for the GO! STL Half in April. – I’ll do a B on this one. I got out more than normal but not as much as I’d like to.

I’ve decided to join the #plankaday bandwagon. I need to work on core strength, and I really think it will help me with my push ups too. I did it this morning for 40 seconds. 40.5 to be exact. So I have room to improve. Like a LOT of room to improve. – I did ok on this one. When I was being regular I got over 1 minute, but with all the traveling and hoopla I just plain forgot some days. C on this

My CrossFit goal is to Deadlift 200lbs. My previous PR was 155 before last week… then I did 185… and if I can do 185, SURELY I can get to 200 by the end of November… Right? – Whoooo! A+ on this one! I PR’d at the CrossFit Total – 200lbs! It wasn’t exactly pretty… but I did it!
And finally… I want to finish The Happiness Project. You know, that book I started reading in September? ha. – FAIL. I got like 80% finished. School sucks the reading desire right out of me.
And Now for the December Goals!
December Fitness Goals
be generous.
It is easy to get caught up in the holiday season and look at gifts and giving as just another thing to check off the list. Just another “have to” instead of really getting excited about giving. I want to look for more personal and meaningful gifts, instead of the typical bath set or whatever.
eat paleo.
I did pretty strict paleo back when I started the 60 day fat loss challenge. It worked. I felt great. I have been noticing more and more how upset my stomach gets when I eat a lot of gluten. this month i’m going to focus on getting my proteins, veggies, and healthy fat. Eating when I’m hungry and stopping when I’m full. I’m going to allow myself small “splurges” but not going overboard.
work on push ups.
the last few months of CrossFit i’ve been focusing on strength/lifting goals. I did the 95# Clean & Jerk and the 200# Deadlift. But I still struggle with body weight movements like push ups, pull ups, and burpees (blaaaaah). So this month I’m making it a point to work on my push ups. I will be doing push ups every day, adding one each day. So since it is the 3rd I’ll be doing 3 solid “boy” push ups. eventually working my way up to 31 by the end of the month. I’m also going to keep up with #plankaday to help my core strength.
i am so excited about this, you have no idea. as of right now the pot is at $3100 and growing. i weighed in this morning at 196 – the highest i’ve been in awhile thanks to all the “last meals” i had to have before starting the challenge. My 4% weight is 188. Totally do able if I stick to all my goals. i’m excited for the fun and community aspect of it. tons of my friends are joining, so there is “friendly” competition. plus with money on the line, i’m all in.
run 40 miles.
i haven’t run this much in a month in a long time, but i’m going to try my hardest to get there. training for the GO! STL half starts next month and i really really really want a HUGE PR for this race. plus – running is good for weight loss. which helps with my weight loss challenge goal!

I’m linking up with Little Girl in the Big World!

Your turn! What are your goals this month?! Are you going to join our Holiday Weight Loss Dietbet?? It starts on Wednesday!

  1. I love running distance goals. Mine is 50, which is a huge goal compared to last month, but if you have the determination and people to motivate you (plus the DietBet contest of course), you can do it 🙂

  2. Goal-setting is so important and a great way to focus. I think it’s awesome too that you don’t forget to go back and evaluate how things went.

Good luck with your December goals!

Oh, and I’d love to meet up for coffee sometime.

  3. I really would love to jump on the paleo bandwagon – I suppose I am just so nervous that I will have to do more cooking as a result!

Thanks for linking up – good luck with your December goals!

    1. I don’t know that it is more cooking as much as it is just more prep. It is hard not to grab a bag of something or some kind of bar to eat in a pinch. Planning ahead is key!

  4. Awesome goals!

I’m doing the Holiday weight challenge too, just weighed in this morning. I’m also doing a Plank Challenge and the squat challenge. I figure those along with the 30DS will have to get me in shape!

  5. Awesome goals!! I love recap posts, too, to reflect on what you did good and what you still have room to work on.
Good luck with the push-ups! I kinda hate them lol. I did 70 in a CF workout last night and my chest is SO sore!!
Paleo isn’t so bad; but I admire you for attempting to stick to it in December! I’m sure there are plenty of paleo treat recipes though! 🙂

    1. I like to look back and see how far I’ve come – but recaps also let me realize what didn’t work and how to fix it. I am SO sore for push ups and moving down in bands with the pull ups. I’m trying to stick to Paleo 90% of the time and letting myself have a few treats. I really don’t have much desire for all the typical treats… I’d just like a chickfila sandwich! ha.

  6. Congrats on your crossfit goal! You are a machine girly!! 🙂 I love all your December goals too, and I think you are going to do great. I won’t be joining in on the weightloss goal (for obvious reasons), but hey hit me up in say 6 months post baby, and I’ll be ALL over it!! Good luck!!

  8. Awesome goals for December! You are SO STRONG!! I have very little upper body strength – I usually fall out around 20 girly pushups, but I’m working on it 🙂 I am in awe of how big your dietbet challenge is getting! That’s amazing
