Disney Cruise, Progress, and other updates

i miss this place… this little place on the internet

i miss getting to share about my journey. life is still crazy. i’m just trying to balance it all. i have 4 weeks left of school, then i hope to figure out some sort of regular schedule… you know with all my free time. ha.

until then I wanted to update ya’ll on a few things that have been going on.

Disney Cruise

We finally went on our much anticipated vacation on the Disney Fantasy. It is such an amazing ship and the vacation was just what we needed. If you are thinking about a Cruise I promise you won’t be disappointed with Disney. The level of service is unmatched. We had a verandah room and it was absolutely beautiful

Payton went to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique three times, once as a princess, once as a pirate, and once as a mermaid. She absolutely loved it. Big thanks to her Nana, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Caren for making that happen for her!

We did a few port excursions but my favorite was getting to hang out on Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. So fun. Pirate night was a blast also. It really was one of the best vacations ever. I plan on doing in depth posts once I get some time.

If you have any questions about the Cruise, planning or on board, leave them in the comments and i’ll try to answer them individually or in a post.

Progress

Ah yes, this whole health journey is such a crazy thing. I was doing really well until just before Christmas. Then we started to get ready to move our CrossFit gym to a bigger space and life got crazy. I stopped following my meal plan and life got a bit crazier. Then I went on a 7 day cruise. Now my pants fit a little tighter and I’m sure the weight on the scale is more than it was a month ago… but I don’t know for sure because I took the scale out of the house.

To be honest it started to mess with my head. I had gone quite awhile with seeing no progress on the scale. I would weigh myself every morning and I would let that number dictate my mood. I would hyper focus on my food plan. I would try to figure out how to add in more workouts if I didn’t weigh what I wanted to. So when we needed a scale at the box to weigh in people for a challenge I decided not to bring it back. It freaks me out not to know down to the pound, like I imagine I’ll gain all my weight back. But I know now I am making good decisions for my health and my body. I really have to learn to love myself where I am in order to get to where I want to be. I don’t want to obsess about my weight. I want to feel strong and healthy. I deserve to feel strong and healthy. I’m getting there mentally, our cruise was a huge milestone for me. I walked around feeling comfortable in my skin. I even wore a bikini. In public. I actually wore bathing suit bottoms instead of shorts everywhere. I just really felt good about myself. Am I where I want to be? Nope. But I am proud of where I am. And while that may not equate to progress on the scale, it’s still progress to be celebrated.

I have a meeting to get back on track with my nutrition coach next week. I’m hoping to see some more amazing results. If you are in the St Louis area be sure to check out Precision Fitness STL for nutrition coaching, Jamie is awesome at what he does.

CrossFit 70

I mentioned above we were getting ready to move to a new building… and we did! It is actually the same building just on the other side with triple the space!

There is so much “behind the scenes” that goes into running a CrossFit. We don’t just goof off and work out all the time, despite what some may think. It is so much work. It is exhausting. It is also so worth it. I love every one of our clients and they deserve to have the best place we can make happen for them. We are still working on getting everything done the way we want it, but the HUGE news is that we will have showers when it is all done! BOOM!

So, there it is, my life lately in a nutshell.

Tell me… What has been going on with you lately? Any cruise questions? Do you hate the scale as much as me?

  1. I LOVE that you are at a point that you are comfortable flaunting your progress 🙂

You’re inspiring to so many, Courtney.. and have come SO FREAKING FAR from where you were. You’re only human; don’t be so hard on yourself for ANYTHING. You’re a wife, mother, coach, athlete, and so much more!! 🙂

  2. Hey, congrats on the new space- looks awesome! Your trip sounds amazing. I’ve never been on a cruise, but I have no doubt the level of service on a Disney cruise is top-notch!

I wish you wouldn’t be hard on yourself- you’re such an inspiration to me and others I know. Your progress is evident. I think the scale being out of the house is a good idea. Good for you on being able to recognize what you need.
