Hey Ya’ll. Man, I’m dragging this week. SO much going on!! School started back up and that basically sucks the life out of my soul. Not to mention I’ve had trouble sleeping lately… Hubs said I was making some weird noises the other night and he thought maybe I had Sleep Apnea? I have been having issues with my nose and wonder if it is a deviated septum? That would account for sleeping trouble… which leads me to be foggy brained… anyway, that’s another story for another day.
When the hubs and I started CrossFit we began exploring the world of supplements. One of the things that we really liked was Amino Acids. Amino Acids are basically the building blocks that make up protein. They are said to help manufacture, maintain, and repair muscle tissue. Which is awesome if you are working out hard and lifting heavy. You can drink them before, during, or after a workout. I typically take them in my water bottle and sip on them throughout my workout.
I was sent some fitmixer aminos in fruit punch and grape to try out. I was excited to try them because I love the protein power I’ve had of theirs and knew these would be just as good. I will say they are a lot sweeter than I expected, so I had to adjust the water to amino ratio. I tried both flavors and they were both good, but I think I liked the fruit punch a little better. I have a weird thing with grape, it reminds me of cough syrup or communion. Weird, I know.

I am still working on exploring the supplements world. I can do protein powder, but still leery of much beyond that. Do you think it helps?

Hmm- I thought I had a reply comment plug in. I’ll have to look. With Aminos- I do notice a difference in my muscle soreness with and without them. With as much as I workout I’ll take any help I can get with soreness. I think they really help. That and protein are the only things I have an opinion on. My hubs takes a ton of other supplements but I can’t vouch for them. I know you should take fish oil, but I always forget.
