You know that feeling of working so hard for so long on something and then just like that, it’s done?
I’m kinda still letting my head wrap around this one. Back in September I ran the Pretty Muddy in Chicago. I wrote about it and was contacted by the race organizer and asked if I could help them recruit bloggers for their upcoming races. So for nearly the last 2 months I have been working like Crazy to make it happen. I got in contact with some bloggers that I have been following for awhile and found new bloggers that I adore now. Slowly but surely “Team Pretty Muddy” came together. We had a good amount of bloggers in Tampa and decided to offer a Blogger Sneak Peek on the Friday before the race. I had a day full of travel and ended up at Little Everglades Ranch just in time to meet up with the rest of the Pretty Muddy Staffers, including the newest member Muddy the Dog. Muddy was found out by the mudslide during set up. Seriously, she was the cutest! She pranced around and howled if you stopped petting her. I would have taken her home with me if we weren’t so far away!
Back to the bloggers. After some chatting and walking around the main area we hopped in the back of a pickup truck and went on a tour of the course. We saw the bubble tunnel, the mud pit, the social networking cargo climb, the tunnels, and when we got to the over under walls the truck veered off to the side of the road to go around the obstacle when… We got stuck in the mud!! We climbed out of the truck and decided to practice getting over the walls. We ended up getting a lift back to the starting area and heading out to dinner at Kafe Kokopelli in Dade City. It was a cute little place. I had the fried appetizer platter along with the Cuban Sandwich. After a long day of travel I was ready for a real meal!
Some people had coffee and I split some homemade Pumpkin Cheesecake with Jenny. We had awesome conversation about blogging, Pretty Muddy, running, and of course FOOD.
We ended up staying pretty late chatting. It was so nice to meet up with fellow bloggers in real life!
I plan on writing a full recap of my race experience, but my camera is dead and I left the charger back at home (boo!) so I will leave you with some pictures from my phone and the Pretty Muddy Instagram page!
