Lately I’ve been filled with good intentions. I have meant to go to the gym, to go on runs, to eat right, avoiding chocolate, stretch, do my 30 day yoga challenge…. but reality is it hasn’t happened. Having good intentions doesn’t get you to the finish line. It seems as though every monday I promise myself this will be the week. This morning my alarm didn’t go off and I didn’t get to the gym. After a long day of work, getting dinner ready, and getting a toddler ready for bed I struggled with whether I should go for a run or finish some homework. I knew I would still have plenty of time to finish my homework so I decided to go for a run.
I’m so glad I did. As soon as my feet hit the pavement its like my mind clears. It really is a sort of mental refueling for me. I tried not to think about my time and just ran to run. It has been over a week and a half since I have been running outside. It felt so good to just have that release.
I hope this is what I need to get back on track. Next step… meal planning!
Any tips for following through with good intentions?
Thanks so much for this post. You’re an inspiration. It’s so difficult to get up and just do it, isn’t it? Good for you for going for a run. I’ll for sure be reading to see how the rest of your 30 day yoga plan is going.
