Faith, Life Lessons

Savior King

You are our God.
You alone are good.
You asked your son
To carry this
the heavy cross
our my weight of sin

You are our God
We worship you
hope which was lost
now stands renewed
i give my life to honor this
the love of Christ
the Savior King

I love that song. Something about it speaks right to my heart. I think when it talks about Jesus carrying the weight of our sins it hits me pretty hard…. He suffered for my shortcomings. Talk about love. True Love. Lived out, not just talked about.
25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” Romans 3:25-26. Wow. What a promise. We are now in right standing with God. The reality is that God didn’t send Jesus just to be a “get out of jail free” card for us. He came to make it possible for us to live the life God wanted us to live from the beginning
10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
He wants to give us a FULL life. More often than not we are the ones who get in the way of that life. We hold ourselves back from living that life. Maybe it’s out of guilt or condemnation, but there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1)!! Maybe because we don’t believe in ourselves…. but how skewed is that…. the GOD of the universe believed enough in us to send his son to take up our punishment…. how dare we not believe in ourselves!!!! Jesus said “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12…. He believes in us, so let’s believe in ourselves (believe me, I am preaching to myself on this one!)

I give my life to honor this
the love of Christ, our Savior King!!!
