I started this blog wanting a place to be completely open about my thoughts and it was also a way to keep everyone updated on my life. Sometimes I wrote to be read… not to be honest. Well, from now on you’re going to see honesty at its best. I’m going to document my journey to be healthy and lose weight. If you click on the My Story page above you can get the background to my story… I officially started my journey to lose the baby fat (and then some) on 4/5, a little over a week ago. During week one I detoxed myself of carbs, eating mostly protein and vegetables. I’m a carb addict so I had to get them out of my system. I was eating only around 700 calories a day, but I’ve recently started to up the calorie intake to keep my energy at a healthy level. I’m shooting for 1200-1500 calories a day. I have been using http://www.myfitnesspal.com to track my calories. Not only can you enter it online, they also have an iphone app so you can keep track while on the go. Tracking everything I eat really made me realize how many empty calories I was eating. Mostly sugar packed foods. I’ve found a lower calorie alternative to all the sweets I’ve craved, Sugar Free Jell-o cups (10 Calories!), and Yoplait Light Yogurt (100 Calories).
I try to keep myself active, now that the weather is getting nicer i’ve been taking Payton out for more walks. I need to start actually jogging/running. One of my goals in getting fit is to run a marathon. Specifically, the Disney Marathon. I LOVE disney… so what better way to get motivated to run a marathon than by knowing it would be at Disney? I’m not sure it will be this year, but one day I will run it.
Today was actually a pretty good day food wise… I made a delicious omelet for breakfast, including liquid egg substitute, green peppers, fat free cheese and extra lean turkey ham. Add in my coffee and sugar free creamer and I had breakfast for under 150 Calories! For lunch I had about 3 ounces of chicken breast and a handful of asparagus spears with a light cheese stick and sugar free jello. Dinner was delicious, another 4 ounces of grilled chicken, broccoli with fat free cheese and whole grain brown rice. I had a little sweet tooth after dinner which was filled with yoplait light red velvet cake yogurt. That puts me right around 900 calories for the day… leaving me a little extra room… now that i’ve gotten used to eating such low calories, its hard to hit 1200! Who would have thought!
Well, Lost is on… so i’m going to cuddle up on the couch and watch it. Good night all!!
