Disney World: New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom!

It’s no secret that my family and I are Disney fanatics, so when I saw an update come across my facebook about the New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom I became SO giddy that I just have to share it with all of you! They posted beautiful artist renderings of the Be Our Guest Cafe, Beast’s Castle, Gaston’s Tavern, Ariel’s Under the Sea Journey, and other awesomeness. I may or may not have actually teared up when I saw this Be Our Guest Cafe drawing. I can already imagine myself eating dinner there with my daughter and husband, it’s gonna be magical! So far the opening date is set for “Holidays 2012″… I’m thinking a trip to Disney for Christmas, Please Santa?

I have always been a HUGE fan of Disney in general, but of Beauty and the Beast especially. Belle is my favorite Princess, hands down. The original movie came out in 1991 and it was the first movie I can remember seeing in theaters. When I visited Disney World as a kid I loved seeing Cinderella’s Castle, but I always said that Belle needed to have her castle there too, and now she’s getting it! I also saw they are going to have Gaston’s Tavern, which I’m sure my 2 year old will love because she seems to have a crush on him (if this is any indication of the guys she will date we are in big trouble)…. Anyway, Check it out on the Disney Parks Facebook Page!

They also have more info on the opening up on their blog, so check it out! Also, check out this Behind the Scenes Video about the making of the Be Our Guest Cafe!

Disney really does know how to make dreams come true!!

Disney Recap: Magic Kingdom and Epcot

Ok, I know I promised another Disney update, but I didn’t realize the pictures from the last few days were still on the camera and just now got around to importing them. You would have thought I had a ton of time due to the fact I’ve been “snowed in” most of the week, but for some reason my mind thinks I need to do MORE work on the house if I’m snowed in. So I organized the laundry room, cleaned the basement, cleaned the floors, baked and cooked a ton and a few other things. So, although delayed, here is a little recap of the last few days of our visit to Disney.

Tuesday was my brother’s 20th birthday and my cousins 8th birthday, so the whole family headed to Magic Kingdom! This is by far my favorite park. I think it has to do with Cinderella’s Castle… AND they are building Belle’s village and the The Beast’s Castle too! I can’t wait for that. Payton will be old enough to really appreciate it by the time it opens so you can bet we will be there!

Waiting in line to meet daisy duck. Payton wouldn’t let me hold her, just wanted to stand by herself.
She was SO excited.
In front of cinderella’s castle.
Tea Cups!
Little Cinderella. She was being so independent.
Cousins!
On the Dumbo ride.
She totally zonked out.

Overall, it was a fantastic time. I thought it would be crazy with a nearly one year old, but she was honestly pretty good. And it was SO much fun watching her experience it than me experiencing it by herself. The awe and wonder in her eyes was priceless. She was so excited and happy all the time. Every morning we got in the car she would hold her Mickey doll and sing all the way to the park. I think that everyone should go to disney at least once. It is totally worth every dime we spent!

What are some of your most memorable family vacations?

Disney World: Days 1 and 2

man oh man did we have a blast last week!!! I have to admit I was slightly nervous about flying with an (almost) one year old, but she did great. She was absolutely exhausted but was so stimulated she refused to sleep. We stayed at the Pop Century Resort at Disney World. It was nice, although the room was kinda small. Payton was SO excited to see the Mickey Mouse Silhouettes on the Comforter, the pictures of Mickey on the wall and such. I told her she had NO clue what was coming.

The next morning we headed to Disney’s Beach Club Resort for the Character Breakfast. Of course the food was great, but getting to see Donald, Goofy and Minnie was priceless. I was a little concerned that she might be scared of the characters, but boy was I wrong!! Donald came by first and she got SO excited to see him and started yelling “DUCK, DUCK, DUCK”

Then Minnie came by and Payton was enamored with her. She kept trying to say “Mouse” over and over again.

than goofy came around, and she got such a kick out of him! He was doing the hot dog dance with her. she was cracking up.

We hung out with my best friend from high school and her husband, along with my family, at old town orlando the rest of the afternoon.

Monday morning we actually took a timeshare tour to get discounted disney tickets. We headed out to Hollywood Studios on Monday. Payton got to meet Mickey, Handy Mandy and see Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. Although I think one of her favorite things was the Disney Channel Rocks concert. She is SO serious about her music and dancing. My favorites were Beauty and the Beast Live and the Hollywood Tower of Terror.

tired out!

Stay tuned tomorrow for days 3 & 4!
