Coffee Date

Coffee Date Friday

Good morning! I’ve been up for a long time already so it feels like afternoon to me! It was my turn to coach the 5am class. So I was up super early and ready with coffee in hand. I guess I may have started our coffee date without you!

If we were having coffee today I would tell you after coaching a few hours this morning and doing the workout myself, I was wiped out. I don’t start my meal plan from my nutritionist until Monday and to be honest I was not feeling cooking breakfast. I would have asked you if you wanted anything from Starbucks since I was planning on stopping by on the way home. I ended up getting a non-fat latte and a sausage breakfast sandwich. Then I just found out they are having an offer today on their facebook page that you can get a drink for $1! Too bad I didn’t know that before I went. Oh well.

*sidenote* can we just take a second to see the difference between 4am wake up to work out and after the shower/makeup/hair? Our poor CrossFit clients are going to think I look crazy all the time. I’m not, I promise. ha.

I would probably tell you how I find it so crazy that I can drink a regular plain latte. I even find that the sweetness in the milk is almost too much for me. There was a time in my life when all I could drink at Starbucks was Vanilla Fraps and White Chocolate Mochas. I doubt I could drink a whole one of those now if I wanted to. Funny how we end up changing, isn’t it? I’d also tell you all the other random things I can eat now that I never could before… like onions, mustard, spinach, kale, mushrooms. I literally could NOT eat even like minced onions. When I would go to McDonalds (ick) as a kid/teenager I would scrape those tiny onions off before I would eat a burger. Now I love me some onions.

Speaking of food, If we were having coffee I would tell you I am actually REALLY looking forward to going shopping/food prepping for my first week on the new nutrition plan. It’s going to be a little tricky to plan and prep my meals AND make sure Chris and Payt have their meals too. They may eat similar to me but probably not exactly the same. It’s tough to balance me trying to lose weight and Chris trying to bulk up. I would tell you I’m a little worried about eating SIX meals a day. The plan he has me on has my macros at 45% Carbs – 35% Protein – and 20% Fat. We are going to check in every week or two to see the progress and adjust from there. Not gonna lie, actually having this plan to eat carbs like this is intimidating  I still struggle with the idea that carbs = fat courtney. Reality is carbs will likely (hopefully) = strong courtney. We shall see.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I’m super excited for our weekend – Tonight is the local Car Cruise, we are crusin the big truck with the CrossFit logo on it… hello advertisement. Then we promised to take Payton to Toys’r’us some time this weekend. Can you believe she is 3 and has NEVER been to a Toys’r’us?! It’s going to blow her mind. and my wallet. Follow me on instagram to see a play by play.

Alright – enough about me… what about you? If we were having coffee what would you tell me?
What foods do you like now that you couldn’t stand growing up? or vice versa?

  1. I was the same way about onions! McDonalds hamburgers and Taco Bell bean burritos- I always used to pick them off. Now I can’t get enough!
Also there were a lot of foods that I didn’t know I liked till I met Will. Like Salmon, asparagus, garlic, and hot sauce.

    1. Isn’t it funny how marriage changes us? haha. I wish I liked fish, but I just can’t do it. I love asparagus, but hate that it makes my pee smell weird. TMI I know, lol

  2. While your hair looks fabulous in picture 2, there is a lot of beauty in in picture 1. Don’t sell yourself short!

  3. I can’t wait to see what your eating next week! I used to love sugary cereals, poptarts, real soda and chips. Now sugary cereal makes me gag…poptarts–blech, soda is now diet…on it’s way out entirely and chips are only for margarita’s! lol

If we were having coffee I would tell you that this week was horrible for eating and working out, but I am excited about the new job I started and hope that the weekend goes by quickly since it is so crazy busy!

  4. That’s funny because my mom took my toddlers (3 and 2) to TRU for the first time in their lives. My 3 year old was like, “A store? With nothing but toys?”

And the two year old picked out a $3 Mickey toy. What the heck kid? Grandma was paying.
