Meet Courtney — Mom, Wife, and Therapist Sharing Lived Healing Experience

A cozy space for cycle-breakers, overthinkers, and imperfect humans unlearning shame.

Hi, I’m Courtney Bishop — though I’m still imperfectly courtney around here. I’m a writer, counselor, wife, mom, and eternal work-in-progress navigating life with a lot of heart and a little humor.

I am a proud mom of a fiercely brilliant teenage daughter and a feral preschooler who keeps me on my toes. We share our days with two adorable pups: Harley and Pickles. I’m also lucky to do life with my husband, Jake—a gifted artist, musician, and my daily dose of creativity and calm.

In the past few years, I’ve walked through fire and come out changed—but stronger. I finalized my divorce in my early 30s, graduated with my Master’s in Counseling, and am currently working on my dissertation to complete my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in multiple states and work to help others find meaning, healing, and belonging. I specialize in working with clients navigating complex trauma, identity, and transitions—because I’ve lived them too.

✍️ Writing has always been my anchor.

From GeoCities and xanga to this cody corner of the web, words have helped me to survive and thrive. What started as a pregnancy blog in 2009 has become a record of growth, grief, joy, healing, and everything in between. This space grows as I do.

🪞What I Believe:

I believe that we heal by sharing our stories.
I believe your voice matters.
I believe in sacred messiness, soft strength, and being deeply human — together.
If you’re here, you belong here. No filters required.

So welcome to my virtual living room. Come as you are. Get cozy. Let’s grow, cry, laugh, and be real — together.

You’re imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.
