Running has been a part of my health journey from the start. When I started it was all I thought I could do to get the weight off. So I started, slow and short, but I kept going. As I continued to run I realized that I could get better at it. Every mile I ran I thought of those who told me I never could. I went from not being able to run for 30 seconds to training for a marathon. It became more than just a way to lose weight, running became an outlet. It was my way of showing everyone I could. No, it was my way of showing MYSELF I could. Lacing up those shoes and hitting the pavement became my way of finding myself, of finding my strength. And that is why I continue to run.

I run for ME.
I run for those who said I couldn’t.
I run for strength.
Everyone has a reason for running. Dick’s Sporting Goods wants to celebrate and share those stories. For each week leading up to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon they will be releasing videos sharing stories of different runners and why they run. This week is the story of Lisa & Sally. Check out this video and see what they #runfor
Inspiring.
Be sure to check out the video from week 1, as well as future videos over at the Dick’s Sporting Goods #RUNFOR Page.
If you’re a runner, What do you #runfor ?
I am participating in this campaign with Dick’s Sporting Goods. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I only started running after I lost a lot of weight. It reminds me of why I stay fit, of the things my body couldn’t do that it can do now.

This video really touched me when I saw it earlier this week. I posted it as well. I started running to run away but realized running towards something is what it is about!
