recently i’ve been feeling like there just isn’t enough time in the day. even when i stay focused on one activity of a time I find myself buried deep in a list of projects as the clock tick tocks away. one of the “non-negotiable’s” in my weekly routine is getting to the gym AT LEAST 3-5 times a week. I was really good at going right after I put Payton to bed, but lately I feel like I have so many things to “wrap up” at the end of the day, plus I cherish the time Chris and I have together in the evenings. Not to mention I’m usually exhausted by the time I put Little P to bed. So, I’ve been trying to find ways to maximize my time. Today I got up at 5am- (sidenote: just another thing to check off on my Proverbs 31 list, I get up while it is still dark!) and I went to the gym. I ran on the treadmill, used the stairclimber and did some dumbell workouts on my arms. I got back just after 6, made the coffee and lunch for Chris and then went and showered, got dressed and did my hair and makeup all before 7. I spent some time straightening up, did a bit of school work and fed Payton breakfast around 8. I knew it was supposed to rain and I needed to get some groceries, so Payton and I suited up to head to the store. Another side note: we RARELY leave the house before Payton’s first naptime (usually between 9-10am) because it is hit and miss if she will be in a good mood or not. Anyway, I ended up getting all the groceries home and put away before 10 and had the downstairs clean, a load of laundry folded and floors mopped before 11. Now, its about 11:30, I still have a bunch of things I want/need to do, but I’m well on my way to accomplishing them all today.
So back to the question, Is it worth losing sleep over? YES! getting up early really does pay off! (lets see if I’m still saying that around 3pm when I usually start to crash…)
What are some ways you can make extra time in your day?
